Tomas is a 3rd generation of Italian American decent and belongs to a family of artists. Tomas spent his early years in New York, and came to California in 1968, and is a resident of the San Joaquin Valley, one of the largest food producing valleys in the world. Tomas has traveled extensively from Italy to French Polynesia, the Caribbean to South America. His travels give him perspective into international cultures, and each region’s style adds to the uniqueness of his art.
Tomas is a self-taught artist, a professional colorist by trade, and is one of the most talented metal artists in the world. During the creation of his art, each piece goes through eleven extensive processes from beginning to end. It starts with a panel made of thin steel, coated with zinc. The drawing is then done in a special wax, hand etched, and hand painted with high-grade oils. Each work of art is finished with several clear coats, and then baked.
